DuraLabel 4000 released
The creators of the DuraLabel have released a new printer, the DuraLabel 4000. This new unit is classified as an entry-level printer, a lower-cost alternative to the normal DuraLabel units. The goal with the DuraLabel 4000 appears to be cost savings, but when you take a closer look, you quickly see that the cost savings really just aren’t there.
What is the DuraLabel 4000?
The DuraLabel 4000 printer itself is a light-duty, lower-resolution unit, with lower print speeds and lighter construction than other units on the market. While it does cost less than a DuraLabel 300 series printer, it is still more expensive than other alternatives out there, with less features. The base model has no automatic cutter, so you’re left to cut labels manually.
As for the price tag of the DuraLabel 4000, you can expect to pay a few hundred dollars more just for the DuraLabel name- other higher-quality units will cost you less from less proprietary suppliers.
What about the DuraLabel 4000 supplies, they look cheap!
When you first look at the DuraLabel 4000 prices, you feel like the DuraLabel folks have finally “gotten it.” Of course, that hope is quickly dashed when you realize that the supplies you are buying are actually half of what you’d get from a different supplier. Shorter supply rolls means you’re not really saving anything; it also means you have to change your supplies more often on the DuraLabel 4000.
